Is it a numbers problem? Seems like they keep athletes.

Any idea on this one, Cheek?

Talent is there - and has been - to be better than they have been past three years.

I have no clue but wonder how the salary of a 5A assistant compares to that of a 2A head coach. Plus, Greenbrier has fewer mosquitoes :).

Dude was making almost 65k at England.  That is real good 2A money.  I don’t know what Joe makes at Hazen, but the dude at England had to be one of the highest paid coaches in that league.

From an outside view, there is no reason England shouldn’t be able to compete for conference titles in that league.  Very athletic.  It will come down to IF they can find somebody worth anything willing to change jobs in the current climate.  They should be winning big in 2A football.  They too often look thrown together, unorganized and undisciplined IMO.  The hire after Farmer is what set them down this path.  Terry was a weird cat, but dude was a ball coach.

His family is from that area, and his wife works in Conway and has three small kids. Only makes sense moving closer to home. Family decision.

Yep go to church with him. He sure loved England though. I think the main reason was family and kids. England isn't the most ideal place to raise a family in my opinion. Not when you have a chance to live in the Greenbrier/Conway area. My words again not his.

I do not know how I missed this, but if you have never lived in England, how could you make this statement.  I agree that living in England vs Greenbrier/Conway is different, but both have their positives and negatives.  Coach Rob loved England because of the people and the family type atmosphere, and that is something you will never understand unless you live in a small delta town.

I’ve lived in Conway and lived in England. I loved Conway, but I’d take England in a minute.
