New Southwest Little Rock Head Coach
« on: January 12, 2020, 08:45:12 am »
Who are the top candidates for this job?

Sure seemed like a no-brainer that Moody would get it. Not sure why that didnít happen?

Bolding?

I always assumed Moody would have the job, given his success at LR McC.  Have no idea who is in line for the job now.

With Moody going to Jacksonville, Southwest may already have their coach. Like everyone else, I assumed Moody was going to get that job. He may have wanted a sure thing so left for Jacksonville. Or he knew he wasn't their guy already. Who knows?

I would disagree. Compared to how well they performed before he got to PV, they have been fairly competitive.
Heís a good coach and would many more resources at the new school.

I think theyíve only made the playoffs once in the 3-4 seasons he has been there. He has and has had very good talent for them to be a playoff team year in and year out. All State TE, QB has plenty D1 offers has had a solid line and def

Not sure he had more talent than any of the top 4 teams from that league this year.

Definitely not more talent that PA, LRCA, and Maumelle... i agree to that. Iíll say they are along the same lines of talent as White Hall and Watson Chapel and they finished behind those 2. Just Moody did more with less at McClellan than what Bolden did at PV walking into a team with more talent. Now at NLR he had some nice teams until that incident happened

Brad Bolding will be the coach at LR Parkview next year.  I have talked to Brad and Parkview will be one of the TV Thursday night games this fall.

Didnít the real PV talent transfer to Joe T?  i. e. The Jacksons (not Michael or Tito). 😏

If losing 2 players hurt then... hey i guess so! A coach should be able to overcome that right? Robinson have ppl who transfer to other schools yearly! 🤷🏾‍♂️😂🤣

Does LSU win it without Burrow and Chase?

Yíall love comparing different levels of the game to make it fit one rhetoric! Only Burrow was a transfer and he came in LAST SEASON and threw all of 16 TDís! So the better question is does LSU when w/o the new passing game coordinator Joe Brady! Burrow came from OSU and they havenít missed a beat in winning games since he left... 🤷🏾‍♂️! So just because a kid leaves, that shouldn't be an excuse for not being able to win! So my point still stands... ✌🏾

I would say two key players are a lot more prevalent in high school than in NCAA

I would be hurt if he left Robinson! Coach Maup is a great coach and can relate to all players! For selfish reasons, I hope he doesnít leave but he would be a great hire for them! A great HC for anybody! We All at Robinson love B Maup!!

Maupin would for sure be able to get guys out to play football. He is a players' coach with big time energy. I would love to see him get the opportunity.

All facts! Iím just selfish and I donít want him to leave until after the 2026 season when my youngest graduates from Robinson! Lol All jokes aside he is a great coach and has a passion and love for kids and the games! He is highly in demand! At some point an offer will come he canít turn down! 😢

If all of those guys are in play then itís safe to say southwest will be in good hands next year regardless of which coach  they chose to lead them.

I donít know, but I suspect that they are close.  I donít see Moody going to Jacksonville without knowing he isnít the guy at Southwest.  If they are far enough along to eliminate him, they have to have it down to one or two.  This is all speculation on my part, but I think most would agree with that reasoning.

Moody to Jacksonville has been in the works since they moved the previous coach to admin role prior to 2019 season.  The timing dictated an interim coach for 2019, but Moody was the name the entire time shared by people close to that situation.

I think regardless of what the plan was at Southwest, Moody would have been at Jacksonville.

Moody was the top choice for Southwest, but left anyway. Jacksonville pays more, has better facilities and its own community and school district anxious for some success. They didn't even build an indoor facility for Southwest, and they have to compete in 7A where everyone else has one. LRSD's scheduling also puts the football programs at a huge disadvantage as far as practice time.
It's not a very attractive gig.
