Way too early predictions
« on: August 19, 2019, 01:18:53 pm »
I know that Football hasn't even kicked off yet, and many things are up in the air b.....u......t....... does anyone have any conference predictions for the coming season.
I'm wondering of any of the classification shuffles will help or hurt some conferences

3a-4 I would think it will be jesseville/fountain lake. Fountain lake looses quite a bit so they have a lot of players who will need to step up.

3a-5 Should be interesting with glen rose, episcopal, and baptist at the top. Glen Rose will return most of their key players. Episcopal same situation but they lost a really good shooter in the Gordon kid. Baptist will still be solid and have some size, but will now have to learn how to play without McBride. The team to pull up sets would be harmony grove just because they return a lot and have several kids with experience.

3a-7 You have to go with Ashdown

In the 2-3A Tuckerman is always tough. Harding Academy is usually good as well. And look for Newport to make some noise. They had a fantastic Junior High team last year. So I expect some of their super-sophs to make a significant contribution.

I was surprised to learn that Tuckerman has fallen to 5-3. The may not be quite as good as in previous years. Of course, their losses have been to some pretty good teams and it's still early.

Newport has some super sophs but lots of that team in junior high were 8th graders that are now freshmen.
