At a 3a level they are going to have one coach do both senior high teams? Do not see that often.

And 4 years later he's 0-14???  Not good.  What a coach does in year 4 is way more telling than what he does in year 1.

Is this new coach at Magnolia the athletic directors son?  That can be the only explanation hiring a coach with that record to a program with these players and these facilities

He's the son of the newly retired AD. He is from there. He's a good coach, stuck in a brutal conference, in a county where the best basketball players want to play at Tech. He knows what he is doing. They will still compete for the state title.

If Paragould was smart they would look to NWA for their new coach and bring home a former Paragouldian. Who knows if he would consider it but he might to get back closer to his family.

Have you actually done research on him? You don't want a coach who took a job in high school and competed with the players he had? One the also coached at the collegiate level in the SEC? One that has been around guys that have made it to the NBA? That experience can speak for itself? Did you see the dudes he had at Paragould? Did you know how many games he competed in? Have you coached high school basketball? You said you're tired of hearing he's a "good coach" or someone did, but what more do you want out of a resume? You take what talent you have? Was he going to beat Jonesboro(state champs twice in his time), Marion(state champs), West Memphis (State Runner-up)? I'm just interested in knowing what more you or anyone else could want and who applied that was a better candidate?

The facts behind most of these hires wonít be seen for 2-3 years, by then itís too late. Itís interesting when most of these coaches leave their current school itís almost always perceived as a loss for them and a gain for the new employer. Sometimes you have to dig a little deeper to see the whole picture. Do the boosters, administration, parents or players try to convince them to stay? What is the current status of their programs? Look beyond the wins/losses because that can be misleading.

I canít help but think of Houston Nutt to Ole Miss....we all tried to tell them but they wouldnít listen. All they had to do was look a little closer, but they didnít and found out the hard way. ;)

Dude the guy just got hired on the team that will be favored to win state for 3 years in a row and he is coming off of a 0-14 conference record.  Forgive me if I'm a little skeptical.  That is gonna be strange for anybody from the outside looking in.  Then you throw in that he's the AD's son.

Digging deeper you will find he was the head manager at Missouri in charge of film coordination and such.  Not sure what roll if any he actually had in practice or games.  Yes he was "AROUND" kids that went on to play at the next level.  How much did he contribute.  While at Clinton his record was mediocre.  He then went to Paragould and ended his career with record of just barely above .500.  Keep digging.

Yíall are nuts. Did you see the kids he had and the games he played in it? If you ask any coach (not a fearless poster) but any coach in the state, they will tell you this is a great hire regardless of who his dad is. I am wanting to know who would have been a better hire? Did you see the talent he had? No knock on those kids, but if he has nothing to work with, he has to find a way to be competitive and he did just that. He was very respected in that conference. The only ones that donít know are the people that arenít an actual coach in high school. You tell me, if you had the talent he did, would you have went 1-13? I donít know his role in an entirety at Missouri, but yes it does make a difference watching practices EVERY SINGLE DAY and learning from coaches. Yes he walked into a gold mine, but Iíd bet he wouldíve taken that job had they went 0-14 and will still be there after those guys are gone. Recruiting wise, those kids should be excited and thankful because Coach Lindsey knows the game of recruiting and will help those young men out tremendously.

Yea blame it on the kids for sucking.  Heard this a lot over the years.  Part of being a great coach is developing the players you have.

Haha! Way to make me sound like a rude person. No, but the kids he had didnít have near the talent. Donít try to sound super smart by saying it like Iím blaming the kids.

Never heard of him. Was he at Fayetteville this past season?
