I would like to know what exactly Coach Ogeron said to Burks at the end of the game.  It was more than a great game kid, it looked like a serious convo.  Anyone else notice that?

Burks took visits at LSU so they already knew each other from recruiting. If he didn't go to Arkansas he would have gone to LSU.

I think we need to be thinking outside the box in terms of a new coach. Arkansas needs to regain some swagger we had back in the Petrino era. Were a national joke and not respected by anyone right now. Ed Orgeron flat out said in his post game press conference that they were not going to celebrate the win because Arkansas hasn't won a game in a long time. The LSU players didn't bother picking up the golden boot trophy after the game. I'm really leaning toward Lane Kiffin being the next coach.

LSU has bigger fish to fry. The Boot means nothing compared to that natty they are chasing. I wish we were good enough to ruin their season.

It would be nice to at least get back to where teams have to take us seriously.

Hopefully one day we run across that field, hopefully on theirs and take that trophy back and make him eat those words

There is no mercy rule in the SEC.

Although when the final hoan sounds this afternoon, AW might consider,
Razorback Football 2020:  The Rebuild V3.0 or V4.0 or whatever version is appropriate

Wow, and it looks like we will get beat by a bunch of ex Razorbacks, and a few homegrown Arkansas boys.  This game was very winnable, but the hogs found a way to give another one away.

Don't get me wrong, Morris was bad for the team, but I am still seeing a lot of problems with this entire coaching staff.  I seen the slow motion snaps the first game of the year, and too see it hasn't been corrected yet is a real issue.  The play calling is horrendous, and the secondary has been giving up big plays all year.  We just got beat by mizzous 3 stringers.  Lindsey should not have been out there in the second half, he could not hit the broad side of a barn with a pass.  Could not make a good pass on a simple screen.  This entire staff should be replaced.  Two more conference losses and the hogs will have the most consecutive losses in conference play in all of college football.  That is beyond embarrassing.  Oh well, at least we got basketball, baseball, softball, and track.

I saw the same unfortunately. Itís sums up a losing mentality and culture that has been instilled with razorback football.

Whoever takes this job (whether it's Campbell/Kiffin/Fuente/Fickell/wild card), the reality is that next year might be another 2-10 or 3-9 best case.

9/5 Nevada tossup
9/12 at Notre Dame L
9/19 at MSU L
9/26 A&M L
10/3 Charleston Southern W
10/10 Bama L
10/17 LSU L
10/31 Tennessee L
11/7 at AU L
11/14 OM L
11/21 ULM W
11/27 at Mizzou (KC) tossup

Charleston Southern and MAYBE ULM are the only games on the schedule that you say are for sure victories. It is likely that they could go 0-24 in the SEC over three years (and 1-31 over four).

Vandy lost 23 straight league games. We could break that record even with a good hire.

Bdubyab60 - since the Hogs have a long road ahead, and this thread is coming to an end, you might as well watch this A&M thing from a far?  LOL  They'll go from getting beat 7-50, against LSU, to competing for SEC West next year.  I know it's crazy sounding but you have to research.  LSU, BAMA, Auburn, and S Carolina will be down next year.  A&M shouldn't be playing three #1 teams.  Here's the key - they Red Shirted most of the starters this year (like the running back), they Red Shirted most of the Top 5 freshmen Class, they have another Top 5 Class coming in, all those backup underclassmen got unexpected experience this year and they only graduate 2 Seniors.  Granted I wonder if the 7-5 season and 7-50 beat down will hurt recruiting.  It's just interesting to me.... I like seeing program turn-a-rounds.  Would enjoy seeing Arkansas follow suit.

I think the expectations for A&M will be high next year for sure. Another 7-5 campaign though and I bet aggie fans start to think they aren't getting their moneys worth. Big price tag for that fella and really since A&M has come in to the league its been their usual finish except for when johnny football was running around.

I think we get our guy next week. Hopefully someone I can get behind. I tried with Chad but SJS crushed that.

Just show some improvement through the year and then the next.

Watching the Finebaum show, ole miss  reporter says the word on campus is they are going after Norvell hard.  John Daly also called in and said he has been hounding Kiffin to come to the hogs, and he also said he texted HY and told him to hire Kiffin.

Really looks like we are trying to go cheap again according to some. Two coaches wanted to much money. Sometimes just really seems that they donít care.

Heck even mizzou who is operating in a deficit said they were gonna pay 5 to 6 mil. Maybe Iím wrong but man it sure doesnít seem to me that we can get a guy on the cheap that would turn this around.

4-6 for the right guy should be good but we seem to wanna stay right where we are. Heck just paid 3.5 to a guy that had a losing record coming in.

Otis Kirk is pretty reliable...

https://www.nwahomepage.com/sports/pig-trail-nation/theres-no-exacts-when-it-comes-to-coaching-hires/
It really seems some folks are trying to throw a wrench in the gears on this. Iíd be fine with Kiffin though, was one of my favorites last time. As in the other post I think we are trying to go cheap on this again and could end us getting outbid basically and ending up with option 7 and scrambling. Which would do away with any advantage of having fired Morris when we did.

Definitely canít settle for just anybody again. If we donít announce our guy within the next two weeks at the latest...well we could have a repeat of our current situation. Heard HY and Fagg were spotted in Boca Raton this weekend getting off a pvt jet so I think weíre trying to pull the trigger.

I don't mind Kiffin at all. I don't see the appeal of some of the other possible candidates to be honest.
I hope we keep Lunney. "The Chief" needs to go.

Regardless of who we bring in, I have two hopes:

1. We can show improvement in each game and in each season.

2. Fans won't let the last two coaches affect their opinion of this coach. I just know the minute this new coach loses his first game, a handful of people are gonna ask for his head.
