Agreed. If we find a way to win this one then I think we will be expected to win all remaining games, except maybe against ULL.

Dude was a problem in high school. Not surprised by this.

Sad, but true.  If my memory serves me correctly, he was dismissed from two schools before landing where he graduated.

This is arguably the finest coaching job during Anderson's tenure at ASU with everything that has happened. Not his biggest fan, but he has the kids playing hard.

It honestly blows my mind when I see "fans" on Twitter calling for his job AFTER A CONFERENCE WIN ON THE ROAD. What is wrong with these people. He pretty much lost his entire staff to getting hired away or he got rid of them. Brought in all new guys and has continued to win even with a mountain of injuries. Idk what else they want the guy to do.

Unfortunately. I get their lingering angst. I still think Anderson has underachieved several years at Asu with the talent he has had.

What amazes me is that as well as they have done in the past years, they just can't draw a crowd and fill their stadium!  Doesn't look good.

It's a lot better than it used to be. Which speaks to just how little support there was before.

I mean, I'd love to see us going undefeated in conference play every year, but come on... Not even Alabama does that EVERY year. I think Anderson is doing just fine, all things considered.

It is a little frustrating watching App State go beat P5 opponents and get into the top 25. With a former A-State assistant as the head coach. I enjoy seeing other Sun Belt schools have success, but wish it was us doing that.

It would help if we didn't a national championship caliber P5  team in non-con every year...

I agree. Money talks and 'exposure' but what is the value of that when it decimates your roster?

It looks much better scheduling the South Carolinas and North Carolina's and playing competitive and winning a few than scheduling Alabama's Georgia's and Michigans.

A-state has iowa state home and home coming up. With the way Terry and Yurachek talk, I think now or never for the hogs playing ASU.

Have to admit, I'm feeling a little Mountaineer envy too. I remember a year or two ago, someone on ESPN mentioned our record against Power Five teams, and I couldn't help thinking how it'd probably look way better if we were playing more Purdues, Vanderbilts, and Kansases instead of Auburns, Georgias, and Oregons.

Right. I understand playing those big money games. But I'd be fine with taking a little less money against some P5 schools that we might actually compete with. Heck, there are some P5 schools shelling out over $1 Million to let a G5 come in and beat them. Let's find those schools to play. Lol

I would much rather play some schools we have more of a chance of beating at the P5 level. Some bottom to middle tier teams in the Big 10 and ACC. Even someone like Tennessee or Mississippi State we could probably compete with recently. I think playing the blue bloods like Alabama, Georgia, USC, etc., has its merits and is something we can once every 3-5 years, but I'd much rather have a fighting chance in games.

But you also have to remember schedules are usually made several years in advance and some of these teams will fluctuate mightily. Sure, you can almost bet on Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, etc., being at the top for the foreseeable future, but heck even LSU lost to Troy a couple of years ago. Minnesota, who's undefeated right now, had to score on its last drive to beat Georgia Southern this year.

We have also had our chances and not been able to win like Nebraska a couple of years ago, we played a pretty average Illinois team in 2011 (Freeze's year) and lost 26-15 or something like that. Sometimes teams get lucky whenever they schedule them.

HA! I was resisting the temptation to beat them, but... Yeah, something tells me our record against Power Five programs would be significantly better if we were playing Arkansas!  ;D

In regard to Coastal Carolina, winning ugly is better than a pretty loss.

So, what the heck happened yesterday? A 1-10 program whose one win was against a SWAC program beat us. Caught looking ahead?

Our luck ran out and we beat ourselves.. something Anderson coached teams cant help doing 2-3 times a year.

Bad, bad, bad loss. I know we have been decimated by injuries, but getting beat by a team that has 1 win on the year should never happen.

All things considered, not a terrible year for the Red Wolves. Now hopefully they can get an eighth win and get the elusive bowl monkey off their backs.

Glad Anderson is staying.

It was a good season, not a great one, but the bowl win is big. Blake needed it in a big way after the letdown to South Alabama. Hopefully we can finish with a solid recruiting class after this. I'll be interested to see what happens with our defensive coordinator Duggan. We had one of the worst defenses in FBS, but also had a number of injuries on that side of the ball. I don't really think he should get another year, but with the trend of the past, I don't think there will be much staff shakeup aside from guys leaving on their own.

Always nice to end the season with a bowl win!

Also, I couldn't help noticing... Our last bowl win was also against a team from Florida, and that team went undefeated the following year. Hmmm... Could we see a 12-0 FIU team next year?  ;D
