Missed my one chance
« on: April 18, 2018, 09:38:41 am »
When in track. I ran the hurdles to be truthful never really that good.  I had to rotate lead leg due to short legs.  There was this one boy from Danville that would always beat me.  I came in 2nd to him every time.  One day we lined up and at the sound off we went.  Over the first and on the second I heard him crash into the second and out of the corner of my eye say him stumble.  I thought this is my chance as I left him behind.  As I crossed the final one I was ahead, but he edged me at the line to win.  I saw him about 25 years after high school.  He said you remember that time I fell down and still beat you.  I said I sure do.
