GSC conference times changed this weekend?
« on: March 18, 2010, 11:07:00 am »
I noticed where Tech's women softball team's game has been moved to Friday because of possible heavy rain on Sat.  Are there any changes for baseball this weekend in the conference?  Will UAM have their field ready to play?
They have played only one day at UAM's home field all year because of poor playing conditions.  Last year they gave up a conference series because they did not have their fields ready to play.

SAU's softball team has bumped up their games, but so far no word on the baseball team.

Word in the pressbox yesterday was a possible move to a 10 a.m.-12 p.m. start time, but there was no official decision on the matter. I might know some more tonight after the spring football game....

Forgot to post this last night, and I've been busy until just now, but the games have been moved to 11 a.m. Saturday.

Here we go again. Rain.  All GSC baseball games were cancelled on Sunday because of poor playing conditions. Any changes this weekend?

Saturday's weather forcast is for possible severe thunderstorms with heavy rainfall.  Will any conference games be played this weekend?  If not, will the GSC allow the games to be made up? SAU, Tech, and Delta are in the post season tournament.  Will it be Henderson, OBU, or Harding the 4th school?  Weather might be the factor on who gets to go!

The latest forecast only shows a 40%-60%-0% chance of rain for Friday-Sunday. Some games will be played. But the GSC doesn't allow for any make-up games—even in the tournament (games have to be played by Wednesday)—mainly because of the time issue.

80% in Cleveland, Ms.  Lucky Delta.  Probably only getting 1 or 2 at best games in for a loss.

HSU and SAU's softball games have been changed to this morning and Sunday because of heavy rain predictions.  Why is it that softball can play conference games on Friday or Monday and baseball has to be played on Sat/Sun except for Easter Weekend?
