Title: Little Rock Christian at Texarkana
Post by: PA Dad on November 09, 2018, 09:45:53 pm
I watched some of the LRC game tonight.  They looked very good.

I havenít seen Texarkana play this year but they obviously have a good team.  Both of these teams have been top 5 most of the year.

Iím going with LRC to win this one primarily because of the injuries to the Hogsí top players.

I admit Iím making a prediction in the dark since I havenít seen Texarkana play.  Mark it up to my bias toward Central.

Arkansas High's backup running back has even more potential then the D1 back that got injured earlier this year. Our young receivers stepped up when our other D1 wr got injured. There hasnt been a drop off at all to be honest. Unless LRCA starts playing defense, the hogs will roll. AHS could've won tonight by 70 points, but decided to play the second and third stringers in the third and 4th quarter.

28-21 Texarkana. The speed on defense for Texarkana is the key. If LRC can't stop the run AHS will not be kind. Depth is the only weakness for Arkansas High. Their passing game is simple but effective.

They don't have any. They did have a D2 guard on the basketball team a year ago. Maybe that's relevant? 😂😂

Honestly this won't be much of a game. The only way Texarkana stays in it is if LRC allowed them to. The only way Texarkana wins is if LRC plays the middle school team then again that might be a close game. .

So to be clear I have only seen one actual LRCA poster in this thread and thatís me.  So donít come back and contribute trash talking to LRCA posters.  I expect us to win the game but I think itís a push game.  A lot depends on how many of our starting players are out for this game.  If we have three of our top guys out like we have the last few weeks this could be hard game to win.

I had no idea AHS had so many D1 players on its current roster.  Not being sarcastic, just stating what Iíve read here , in 5a football two true D1 players usually gets you to the game.  Sounds like they have 4-7???? Is this true ?? Or just fans writing???  Iíve personally seen some very good high players this season but only one D1 back (huskey )

And I don't think that even Husky has any offer at all but I could be wrong on that.

Ok im gonna straighten this out! The WR that tore his knee up has an offer from Tulane and a few more schools. Tha WR-Safety has been offered by Memphis and a couple other schools. Our RB now has been offered by Texas State and a couple other schools! So no we dont have any D-1 kids we reallly have dont have much talent! LRC will beat us like a drum!!

Jackson left LRCA for Parkview and Page left for Catholic both after Freshman year.  To be fair to them they left before Weaverís first year and that was when the culture started changing in the football program.  I donít know why Page left Catholic but he was not in trouble when he was at LRCA.  I had heard he had gotten into some trouble while at Catholic but I donít know the details.  They would both show up to LRCA games anytime there wasnít a conflict in the two schedules.
Title: Re: Little Rock Christian at Texarkana
Post by: Rocket23 on November 11, 2018, 08:37:50 pm
Keith moved Kolian to Parkview because he wanted his son to graduate from Parkview like he did, and Keith was also helping out over there.  But before Bolding got there, it wasnít looking too good at Parkview.  Keith lived in the Joe T district, so it was an easy move.

Donít know anything on Page,  but rumors regarding behavior and attitude.  Incogneto just said above that was just heresay.

The Hogs will have their hands full during this game.  We have a solid defense but we haven't faced an explosive offense to the caliber of LRCA since the beginning of the season.  With that being said we've had a defensive/special teams score(s) the last 8-9 games straight.  LRCA has struggled against the run and if that continues things could get interesting.

Warrior fans welcome to Razorback Stadium!

We are loaded with Seniors this year on both sides of the ball.  The Hogs lost #2 during the McClellan game out for the season and #4 is flying under the radar.  We also have several athletic underclassmen that will hit the weight room during the off season.

BTW that roster on MaxPreps is not the complete Razorback football team.

We also have a transfer JR that come here from Ashdown that can sling the ball a lot. We do lose several starters but the run game should still be potent. Defense will take the biggest hit as we will lose most of our playmakers there.

Yes, Grant McElmurry should be good to go for Texarkana.  He strained an Achilles in practice the week of the Maumelle game, sat that game out and returned for Beebe.  It is a nagging injury that nothing but rest can help.  Marbry returned at LB last week after getting a concussion vs Maumelle.  Drake could have played last week, but they held him out and he was injured during a chop block vs Beebe.    Cory Platt, RB/LB, is only question mark.  He suffered a hand injury vs PA and hasnít played since.  He will be a big addition if he returns this Friday.  Of course how good of football shape he is in is a big question mark.

we have several!  if you like more authentic type try los ruvalcabas on state line next to popeye's chicken.  it is a small, locally owned place that is good.  not tex-mex.  the one you are probably talking about is zapatas downtown.  it is good but will be very busy.  may not have time to get in and out of there.  on state line exit there is Naaman's bbq.  it is a local place and very good.  down state line is all the regular chain stuff.  on texas blvd is 30 burger.  very good, different burgers.  it is just off state line.  if you take the jefferson exit, there is sum burger, olde time burger shoppe.  when you get to the jefferson/arkansas blvd intersection, if you turn back to the east, there is sonic, big jakes bbq, and chicken express.  those are the ones closest to the stadium

Thanks Piggie for the recommendations.  I'd rather not hit fast food, but I guess it depends on what time we get on the road.  Can't wait to see the stadium.  Did I see you got a new video board recently?  Good luck to both teams (Just a little more for LRCA).  Go Warriors!

I highly recommend Naamans BBQ.  It is in a refurbished gas station I believe.  Just ate lunch there the other day.  Big Jakeís is good as well.

Piggie, what is the burger place downtown?  The Box?  Best greasiest burgers around.  Is it open in the evenings?

TLC Burger but they're closed during the evening.

When coming I-30 West from Little Rock the GPS will route you to the I-549 bypass.  Continue West on I-30 into the city and take the Jefferson or Stateline exit.

Zapatas or Naaman's would be my preference.  There are lots of options in Texarkana

Texarkana will win this game. LRC is absolute garbage on defense and we know what wins this time of year. Justice Hill is good and the offense will be able to score some points, but I'm expecting a 48-40 kind of game. Txk runningbacks are the real deal

Eh. Both offenses are good and AHS has the better defense. LRCA gave up over 60 points a couple weeks ago to a team with a terrible record. Expect it to be a high scoring affair either way.

With all three starting linebackers out.  They are back Friday.  Texarkanaís rbs will gash some runs and will move the ball.  But they have speed too and will hit you.

It will be an entertaining game without a doubt.  Go ahead and think this defense is garbage.

You mean Arkansas High? I believe there are five or six high schools in Texarkana. 850-900 sounds about right, because they've been losing students to the other high schools in town. Especially Texas high and Pleasant Grove.

I think the new middle school will help with our enrollment numbers.  We were one of the largest 6A schools during the split in 2006 and over the last decade we've been on a downward trend losing students.  The numbers are still steady in the elementary schools but there's a big drop entering middle school and junior high.

This shouldnít even be a contest with LRCA having less than 420 students.

I think incogneto was being facetious.

Texarkana is 457
LRCA is 405
PA 310

Top 4A school is Mills at 497.

Although this has been discussed ad nauseam let's do a Readers Digest condensed explanation. Enrollment numbers are only a factor when specific boundaries (Public schools) are an issue. A school with open borders (Private schools) is not limited in classification. Public schools can field a team drawing from 450 students that live in the school's boundaries. Private schools can draw from 350 students that live anywhere. Although it is legal private schools have a massive advantage when it comes to sports.

Not quite anywhere:

Rule 1. DOMICILE
B. Nonpublic Schools
    2. After July 1 prior to entering the 7th grade, a student whose parents live outside a 25-mile radius of a nonpublic school must make a bona fide move within a 25-mile radius of the school that the student will attend to become eligible.

That is true, I took some liberties with my superlative. It is a 25 mile radius. But show me any public school in the United States, in a populated area, that has a boundary of 2000 square miles? When you factor that the population density of Pulaski County, 504 per sm, That's a big drawing area. Basically it's all of Pulaski County. How can schools like Blytheville, Wynne, Batesville, Morrilton, Harrison or the majority of 5A teams compete with that? Pulaski County has a potential drawing area of 395,000, Independence County has a drawing area of 37,000. Mathematically who has an easier chance of getting 70 great football players, The one with 395k or the one with 37k?

Do I look stupid to you? Last time I was there I was going to place a Pioneer sticker in the restroom. Two large men in silk track suits introduced themselves to me. I remember both their names ended in vowels, If you catch my drift. They said they were associates of Don Krebs and they highly recommended I don't do that. I ran back to the visitor side crying like a 9 year old girl.

While your mathematics are theoretically true, the reality is that that on LRCAís varsity roster, all live in West LR except for four. And those four, while they are personally great kids, they are not key players that were recruited (all have been here since elementary school).

So you're saying that, Hypothetically, If LRCA were a public school with the same boundaries as every other school every player on that roster, Save four, would still be on the team? No one on that roster lives closer to Hall, Central, Parkview, McClellan or Fair? You must also consider the collateral effect. A player that lives in let's say Hall's boundaries, And attends LRCA, not only strengthens LRCA but weakens Hall. If in fact every roster player would still be closest to LRCA than a public school then the argument is wrong. If they in fact cross boundaries then it is a clear advantage. It's funny to me that the PA posters acknowledge and admit that private schools do enjoy that advantage, LRCA posters deny it.

Easy there hot rod.  A poster doesnít equal posters.  If what one poster said were a consensus of a whole community I would think all of Batesville was filled with weak minded overly emotional men after reading your posts.  There is an advantage thatís why LRCA and PA arenít playing in 3A.

Your supposition is based on a false premise. You think all the top athletes in central are being recruited or drawn to private schools. The reality is that most of the athletes in central Arkansas that go on to the next level come from the public schools, not the privates.

The real advantages of the private schools are culture, expectations and parental involvement/support, not recruiting and certainly not cherry picking from the public schools.

That is a very true statement. I think it's more due to sheer numbers though, Nationally 85% of high school students attend public schools. The other points you make I would agree with except for one question, Why do they put such emphasis on sports? Look at IVY league schools, They field teams but overall they suck. They are about academics first and foremost. They put their money where their mouth is, Or should we say they don't put their money. Do private schools cherry pick? Not really. You don't need to cherry pick to gain an advantage. A few good players from here or there can put you over the top. Two questions for you, You may not answer honestly because I'm so obnoxious, I get that, I'd hate me too. But ask yourself these 2 things, If LRCA decided to drop all sports and focus on the things you said would every player on the football stay? I seriously doubt it. The last one is more direct, How come athletes receive a higher level of financial aid then the general population of students? If there was zero recruiting than the numbers would be in lock step. Athletes get aid/scholarships at a much higher percentage than just student students. I get that Arkansas doesn't have the number of schools to do it but why do California, Texas, Ohio, Florida and other states separate public from private schools in divisions or for titles? They do it because they acknowledge private schools have a major advantage, It's not a level playing field.

I wasn't there but was told by a couple of people, Adults with no reason to lie, That when they beat Batesville in week 1 some students stormed the field and they had some coaches jumping around and dancing like children. In week 1? They had a Super Bowl type celebration for beating a down team in week 1. The people told me it was some coaches making the biggest fools of themselves. Reason 37 I dislike that "Team".

Win or lose, the LRCA students always go down to the field to join their team to celebrate/commissurate and give a prayer of thanks.

Itís called school spirit and family, which, unfortunately, is lacking in many schools today.

The students and parents meet the team on the field after every game win lose or draw because itís the tradition the school has created.  Now to you not liking LRCA nobody really cares Jessie.  You act like a woman on here in 90% of your posts.  So I figure since you donít like the school anyways I may as well be candid about your behavior on this board and give you a real reason not to like LRCA.  Nobody loses sleep when you take 60 minutes to pontificate and wax poetical about what you donít like about LRCA.  As a matter of fact I have seen them get a big belly laugh about how big of a sore loser you are.  Everything you whine and cry about either never happened, was seen by someone else, is completely made up, or is simply explained.  The one thing I know about winners is they will always have haters.

You must be talking about Coach Stone.  He came to LRCA from Texarkana and has been listening to a bunch of Texarkana poeple including players and coaches talk trash all season.  So understably he was excited.  He was the only coach that joined the kids for the fight song.

If you really think Justice Hill was the sole reason for Texarkana getting beaten then 5A is going to be rough for you as a fan.  The truth of game is Texarkana was very talented but very limited in what they could execute.  The offense is one dimensional and the defense didnít make adjustments.  Barry Norton teams havenít been the same since Scott Surratt left.

U will find out next year how good he was!! Look what PA did to LRC  without him keep believing that!! I think Texarkana did pretty good after we lost two of our best players to injuries. We ended up with two losses the same as you guys will end up with!!

Personally I loved the the excitement and spirit coming from LRCA sideline, student section, and fans.  They truly rallied their players, kept them motivated, traveled well, and showed great support (Yes even calling the Hogs and the Arkansas/Razorbacks chant).

I mentioned during the game that we were being out coached but Hill was the deciding factor.  Even across Stateline Norton was known for failing in the playoffs and many Razorback fans didn't support his hiring but I don't think he was a bad hire overall.  Norton and his staff does a great job of developing players and he will be tasked next season.  Remove Hill and everything changes.  At this point in the season it is all about match-ups.  It was the perfect storm for Arkansas High not being challenged since the LRMC game.  The Razorbacks at full strength are more balanced with power running game and electrifying options in the passing game.  With the injuries we became more one dimensional and lost depth on both sides of the ball.  Both teams at full strength I would still take the Hogs.  I am pulling LRCA the rest of the way and will be in attendance at WMS.  Hopefully they can remain focused with PA.

With the Hogs losing the heart of their offense and their emotional team leader we couldn't be more proud of the season.  Finished the season 10-2, 5A South Champs, Battle of the Bridge, and the City Title.

Did you just say "you act like a woman" and mean it as an insult?  Classy.

I apologize. I had no idea. I would never argue, ridicule or debate any person with difficulties. I had no idea it took you 60 minutes to read my post, Kudos for sticking with it to the end. I guess the breaking into a belly laugh is an expression of pure joy having completed the arduous task of reading a paragraph or two. I myself don't hate women so I wasn't insulted by the comparison. If you're online then I eagerly await your response to my post, Telling me how no one cares, Except of course you, Who almost always responds. Let me give you an example of "Not caring", I read the 5A basketball boards, I never ever respond. I actually don't care. The fact that you respond, Telling me no one cares, Is proof you care very much.

Ok, get started. Read it slow and sound out the words. 59 minutes to go...

I am pretty sure that every true Arkansas High fan knew what type of team we had this year.  We were exposed during the Texas High game, battled season ending injuries, struggled with quality dept, and still accomplished a lot this season.  At full strength we are a different team.

I have no problem wth kids they can act that way but adult coaches that was terrible!

And we still stand firm on those comparisons.  Of the teams that have dropped down Arkansas High is a different program.  For anyone that has knowledge or follow the state of Arkansas high school football, the name Arkansas High (Texarkana) speaks for itself when compared to those other programs.  Anything else is pure hatred or ignorance.  Sure you aren't going to be shaking when all of you defaulted to big brother PA being the class of 5A and no one from Texarkana expected to dethrone PA this year.  At full strength we are a completely different team and did hope to make it to WMS.  We did lose our starting RB and had to pull a starting LB to step in as starting RB.  We lost the heart/emotion (WR, CB, Punt/Kickoff Return) of team in the LRMC game.

Texarkana is 22/47 in the last 4 years with 10 of those wins this season.  The next best year was 6 wins.

In the last 4 years at LRCA they are 37/48 with 7 losses in 2016 which was a true rebuild year.  Their next best year they won 12 games.

So look in the mirror before you erroneously claim one good year.  Just keep thinking Justice Hill is the program and you are going to once again look like you donít have a clue.

You sound just like JessieP, judging all LRCA parents/posters by the comments of one individual. So what is your real agenda?  Angry that, once again, YOUR state champion is not tbe actual state champion?  Is LRCA overated again like you emphatically repeated last season?  Or are they overlooked like you claimed in 2016?  This bipolar relationship you have with LRCA is sad.

You the one doesnt have a clue!  We played in 6A playing teams like Greenwood, Benton, Eldorado and PB just to name a few! Non conference we played Texas High, Liberty Eylau and last years Texas 4A state champions Pleasant Grove  ! Also we played the same team that beat PA this year Parkway out of Louisiana!! You guys played a powerhouse schedule with Jacksonville and Greenbriar  and a few others!  Last year yall got beat by Wynne in the playoffs who got beat by Marion in nonconferece. Once again I am mentioned by an insecure LRCA poster. Why when we talk bad about LRCA do the LRCA posters insult the poster? It's juvenile. One said it took him an hour to read my post (Not a Harvard grad I'm guessing) He also said no one likes me and no one wants to be my friend. I think he's passing around notes telling people to draw ugly pictures of me and hand them out at recess. Why so insecure? Is the PA shadow that overwhelming? Are you guys not getting any sunshine whatsoever? You may want to dig a little deeper in the FF boards if you think myself or anyone else on this thread are the only ones who have issue's with the LRCA coaches/fans/players. We are members of a pretty big fraternity. When it comes to sportsmanship LRCA is not at all respected. But by all means keep insulting individuals and women, your post are increasing the PA fan base. Winning with class cannot be bought.

I think that might actually be a LRCA fan/parent.  Most posts follow LRCA, they are all over the place with emotional posts, they refused to give PA credit for winning the state championship, posts are mostly negative and judgemental of both LRCA and other teams, and they used a word like ďmisogynisticĒ.  Sounds like a holdover from the Kramer culture.  Most of those people have either grown up or left but there are a few of those culture killers still hanging around.  Some people need to understand that God never intended his children to be whipping boys or doormats.  He only gave us one extra cheek to turn.

Very good! I posted at 8:30 and you responded at 9:17, 47 minutes. You knocked 13 minutes off your usual 60. Even if someone read it to you it's still learning. That's a skill that will come in handy when you post on the National boards. You know, once LRCA becomes the new IMG.
Im with you Jesse you cant talk to an Idiot like Incognito!!

Yeah, you're better off not engaging that idiot. He's big on insults, lacking on facts. Although he knows the inner workings of the lrca football team so either he's a coach, student or a very creepy adult. Besides, we all need to watch what we post. He has informed us that God wants lrca to win, us public school backers are now orphans. We don't want to end up banished in Hades with Hitler, Bin Laden and KK (He must be doomed for the beatings he has laid on lrca), so straighten up and fly right.

And played in 5A. Nobody really ever expected Texarkana to compete for the championship in 5A this year.r

I expected and said it when they announced Arkansas High was dropping down to 5A. They have Talent in Texarkana. They also have 5 other high schools. Texas High,  Pleasant Grove, Liberty Eylau on the Texas side and Genoa Central and Trinity on the Arkansas side. People and family members move back and forth across the state line a lot in Texarkana. For those who didn't think Texarkana was going to  be good in 5A, I  bet Barry Norton knew it !##
